Optomap Retinal Imaging

At Savannah Family Eye Care, we use Optomap ultra-widefield retinal imaging for all of our routine examinations.  The Optomap takes a high-definition photo of the inside of your eye, checking the overall health of the eye without having to dilate the pupil.  It checks for common ocular health issues such as glaucoma, damage to the retina from blood pressure or diabetes, and macular degeneration as well as rare conditions such as retinal detachment and ocular melanoma.

Our Optomap examines 200 degrees inside the eye compared to only 45 degrees in standard undilated examinations, allowing us to see problems that could otherwise be missed
